Titegroup loads?

OK shooters, what are you doing with Hogdons Titegroup? Bullet and charge. Someone gave me some and I am not sure what it is best at. Thanks!

I've used it for 230 gr hardball loads.  4.3-4.4 made a nice short line load.  For 50 yards, I went with the max listed in the Sierra manual, which was higher than the the max on Hodgdon's site, so I'll let you look it up yourself. I also tried 4.2 with a 200 gr H&G 68 style bullet.  It chronographed 765 fps and was reasonably accurate at 50 yards.

And...how light would you go on it with a 200 lead swc?

The only load I have in my records for 200 gr lead s 4.2gr TG attributed to NSK Neil from the old BE-L list a long time ago. 

I've never used TG for anything other than 230gr ball loads. 4.2gr for the short line and 4.7-8gr for the long line work well.

Like the above only use I found for it was 45acp 230 ball loads . 5.0grs with Sie 230 FMJ was accurate enough for long line , but is right at the upper limit for brown box ball . Usable but more abuse than I wanted . Never had any luck with it other than that 1 load , regardless of the cartridge . Much better powders for our game IMHO , like BE , WST , W231 or VVN-310 .

I used 4.2 with a 185swchp in one of my pistols. It shot cleans.

I really like Titegroup, it's basically the only powder I make sure to have many jugs of. I use 4gr. under a cast 185. I run a frame mount, but if you don't, I think you'd *might* need to add a couple tenths for function, depending on how the gun is sprung, etc.

I shoot 3.5 grains of Bullseye with a 200 grain LSWC. While it’s very accurate it is filthy. What would a comparable load/charge be using Titegroup?

Jason, I didn't use Titegroup, but 3.8 of WST works pretty good, about 4 clicks difference on my ultra dot. Cleaner than bullseye and works good with Terry's cast 185 swc. I wonder what 3.5 WST would get you with the 200swc.

That load runs 590 to 650 fps. Yes found it precise as well but slow stuff is hard for me to shoot well. I use it for training to beat a flinch; it appears sensitive to trigger induced motion. Plus you can see them going downrange like a bublebee! My loads were clean since I minimized the amount of resizing.
