3d printed Ransom Rest inserts
Has anyone tried 3d printed Ransom Rest inserts? I found a set for the Pardini, but was hoping to get some opinions. I'm concerned the hard plastic may not be ideal for the application. Thank you for your time.

I have a set although I haven’t tried them yet. Another member herein, whom I respect, gave them a good recommendation. I definitely like the way they attach v the inserts from Ransom Rest.
If you are interested, I will be selling the RR ones.

I use them and think they are great. They bolt directly to the frame in place of the Pardini grips and are drilled for the 3 Ransom Rest mounting bolts. No elastomeric required.

Andrew must be away from his computer as he watches these forums closely.
I received a pair of Ransom Rest inserts for Benelli MP95E from him. They fit VERY well.
Now I just have to figure out how to make the Ransom Rest immobile short of BOLTING it to the bench.

Sometimes the bench itself is not steady enough. I bolt mine to a concrete bench mounted on a concrete slab. But I realize not everyone has that option at their range.

Re: 3d printed Ransom Rest inserts
you are totally correct about the stability of the bench. At home, my bench is not stable enough. At our club, the bench is secured with 4/6 posts into concrete. It does not move.
I use two bar clamps in the front and usually secure the back with a ratcheting strap to one of the posts that go to concrete. Last time I was there I was unable to use the strap. So the RR moved around a bit and I had to re-aim left to right for each shot. Elevation was fine.
That being said I got a 1 5/8 group at 50 yards with .32 smith and wesson long out of a Benelli. I am hoping that it was a good load and not just luck.
It is winter here, I may not get a chance to do this again for several months.
