Matchgun 2 EVO - First Shots.....
I picked up my new Matchgun 2 EVO today from my FFL, and like most of you, I just had to shoot it...... I can shoot 25 feet in my garage and here are my first two 25 slow fire targets shot one handed at 25 feet with irons. The target on the left was the first ten rounds and the target on the right was after a sight adjustment:
I
I am very happy so far......
Here is another picture of what I purchased:

I will do a review once I get more time with it and get the red dot on it I will say one thing, the pistol feels very different than my Pardini, not better or worse, just different....

Very cool pistol. The MG "claim to fame" is their tube magazine approach. I can't wait to see what the integrated rail model looks like, I'm a red dot junkie,

For me it’s the trigger. The best ever, IMHO.zanemoseley wrote:Very cool pistol. The MG "claim to fame" is their tube magazine approach.

The trigger feels different to both of my Pardini's, which I have set-up almost identical to each other. It is currently set up as a two stage (which is what I like) trigger and it breaks like a glass rod with no creep what so ever..... I only have 30 rounds through it, so it will be a fun ride as I learn about this unique pistol.

There is one brass and one nylon and both are 22 calibre brushes, so I assume they are giving me the choice......... I guess I could use the nylon one to clean the magazine tubes, but I'll stick to using a Q-tip when needed.

Seems like a good price for a limited production target pistol, especially when a new model 41 will cost you at a minimum of 1100, and most likely more. Thanks for showing us.

Re: Matchgun 2 EVO - First Shots.....
While I am waiting on my red dot mount I thought I would break in the MG2 EVO a little more and went to my local range. I could only get on the 25 yard line, so I figure I would try some rapid fire with the pistol. Here was the result of my first attempt at rapid fire with irons:
I am very happy with the pistol and cannot wait to try it with a dot on it. The trigger is just just fantastic. I currently have only a 100 rounds through the pistol, but I am liking it very much. The 7 ring was all me.......

Re: Matchgun 2 EVO - First Shots.....
Mine's not an EVO but an MG2. I've had it for about 4 months and have had zero function issues shooting CCI Sv and some Auto Match for practice. I do keep it well oiled and reasonably clean.
There are a couple little quirks in operating it you have to learn. When the slide is locked back you have to cycle it twice to load the first round.
If you need to extract a loaded round you have to pull the little extractor lever so the bolt will move completely rearward. You can actually see the bolt and the elevator operate through the open side of the gun so you know when it picked up the first round.
When the safety is on it blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin but the trigger still functions making it dry fire safe.
Shoots on call at 50 yds.
Shot my first ever TF clean with it this past Wed. night.
Shot a P.B. 900 with it 2 weeks ago.
You can adjust the trigger to anything you might be able to dream up.
2 stage, short roll, long roll, crisp, etc.
Happy, happy!
