231 loads for 45acp

Just curious , most of the loading manuals suggest 231 as a good choice for loading 45ACP , but it's never mentioned here. I've had good results with jacketed bullets , not so much with low velocity lead bullet loads. Any opinions out there , Richard

231 is a good powder. With low velocity lead, you may get some unburnt powder, but it doesn't seem to be detrimental to accuracy. WST is better for that aspect. Both meter very well.
