Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
I called Sig Customer Service to find what they recommended for a Red Dot mount and they had none and din't seem to care. I'm disappointed since this is a target gun and being above 60 need to use a Red Dot on inside ranges with poor lighting. Outside open sights are Ok.
I think they are missing the boat for older shooters who are more likely to have that kind of money to spend on a dedicated target gun.

An Aimpoint Micro weaver base/mount could be easily made to attach to the slide with the rear sight removed. Would require drilling and tapping the slide.

I would bet that DHMG-1 made it himself, since he is Dick Horton and that grip looks like his signature creation!
I have recently ordered and received grips form Dick for my AW93 and I am thoroughly impressed with the craftsmanship and how well the grips fit me.
Regards,
Oleg.

Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
Greetings,
You will also find it difficult to get the trigger weight CMP legal. SIG does not sell parts nor will they adjust the trigger weight.
Other than that, the one I looked at appeared rather well made.
Cheers,
Dave

That grip is too nice to carve on, or add putty to.

I don't know if anyone has tried or not, but I would definitely contact Robert Burke with any questions about trigger work. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

Another one would be Bruce Gray, although he may be more difficult to get on the phone.

If they can't do it, it probably can't be done.

I have in the past used 1911 mainsprings on different pistols to get legal weight. Sometimes need to make spacers or guides but doable.

As far as red dot mounts are concerned, EGW makes some. Here's a link: http://www.egwguns.com/p210a-american-made-post-2016/

I came really close to buying one. Then I looked at dot sight mounts. The sight would sitway up there even with a streamlined mount. They make a frame mount sort of like the EGW that contacts the dust cover and lower slide. Still puts the sight way upp high. I decided to stick with a milled slide on my 1911.

Optic/red dot height above the bore line is over rated issue. Yes its desireable to have a lower mounted optic, but I've shot both 38 spl and 45 into the high 880's with grip mounts in the past. They mount/place the optic the highest. Trigger control is what's important.

Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
Armory Craft sells a red dot sight adapter for that pistol. It goes in place of the rear sight and is well made. It fits several dot sights that use the same 4-post mount design (such as the Docter or Burris FF3). There are three ways to increase the trigger pull to 3.5# or 4# (e.g. for CMP service pistol since it's approved). First, compressing the hammer spring by turning the retaining nut clockwise. This will put more load on the sear and increase the trigger pull slightly. Beware though, it you wind it up too much, you will not be able to re-mount the grips. Second, turn the sear adjustment pin (w/1.5mm hex wrench) clockwise, after loosening the (hidden) sear adjustment pin set screw with a 0.050" hex wrench. The sear pin will rotate about 270 degrees total. At the fully CCW position (i.e., 0 degrees), you will effectively set the minimum sear engagement length, and this also tends to coincide with a reduced trigger pull. By rotating the sear adjustment pin CW, you'll be increasing the sear engagement length and this also tends to increase the trigger pull weight. Don't forget to re-tighten the set screw after adjustment, and make sure that the sear adjustment pin is pressed fully into the hammer/sear bloc before tightening the set screw. Otherwise, if the sear adjustment pin protrudes even a few thousandths away from the bloc, it will not freely fall into position in the frame. BTW...if your hammer bloc does not pull-out freely after loosening the torx screw, this is likely the cause when it was assembled at the factory. You can access the set screw with a long 0.050" hex...loosen it, then press the sear adjustment pin against the bloc, then re-tighten the set screw. There is NO NEED to remove the safety to remove the hammer/sear bloc. Third, I have a heavier trigger return spring that is approx. 3X heavier than the stock trigger return spring. They are a direct replacement for the stock spring. With the heavier return spring, and my sear adjustment pin fully CCW, and with the hammer spring NOT wound tighter than when it was delivered, my P210A will lift a 4.0# weight.

That Armory Craft adapter looks really nice. I wouldn't hesitate to try one.

Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
Grips4U.net sells a very nice checkered walnut grip for the P210A, very comfortable and less bulky than the Sig Target grips. I use that set of grips. Armory Craft is also going to be selling their version of a similar (non-Sig Target) grip in Walnut and in composite (G10?). They may be out before the end of the year. The Hogue grips on the P210A Standard have not received very good reviews, however, if your goal is to put a dot sight on it and use more compact grips, the Standard is not a bad buy since it's $hundreds less, and as far as I can tell, the only difference is the grips and adjustable rear sight.

Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
A friend has one and he let me shoot it. It is nice, but the trigger seemed a bit heavy at 3.5#. The overall weight of the gun seemed muzzle light and while it was accurate I really did not like the way it laid out there when my arm was extended. At $1450, minimum for the target version you can find just as accurate in a 1911 in 9mm that has been worked for a whole lot less green stuff. The red dot does sit high and plays games with your head/eye position. I think it would be fine for anyone who wants to say they have a P210. Just my 2 cents.

Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
GUNBROKER has a number of these for under $ 1100.00. I understand these are fairly accurate right out of the box. It appears the folks at ARMORY CRAFT plan to support the aftermarket demand.

the $1100 P210 is the one without the target sights and smaller grips

Re: SIG 210-A ANYONE TRYING ONE?
I've not heard good things from the stock grip plus if you're putting on a dot you might as well get the $1100 version. The difference would buy you some nice grips from Dick or your favorite maker.

I was under the impression that the Standard model has a heavier trigger than the Target version.

The price is OK, but the new models shoot larger groups at half the distance of the older ones...

Nowhere near the build quality of the German-$$, or the Swiss- $$$$.
