38 Super loads...

Looking for some thought on the 38 super!  I want to load 130gr RN plated bullets and have some VV N320 and N340.  I also have Tight Group, 231, BE, WST, and Clays laying around.

Looking for thoughts on what powder to go with here as well as a great range/be load and a good self defense or hunting load.

Anyone have thoughts?  Also, why did you lean one way or the other on the powder?

Really want to burn up this N340:)

Looking forward to some thoughts and recommendations...  BTW, I already have loading books and load data from the companies website.  Curious what luck everyone else has had though!!

I have never had much luck with plated bullets producing tight groups.  

My 38 super (Built by KC) is set up with a fast twist 1-10 barrel, a frame mounted dot so I can run very light loads. My favorite is 2.8 gr of WST, WLP primer, 147gr bevel base flat point lead bullet, 1.25" OAL, .379 crimp.  This load gives me <2" group @ 50yd.  Others can chime in with more standard loads.
