.32 S&W Long Brass

I just received 1,150 pieces of once fired .32 S&W Long Brass
400 Fiocchi
250 Magtech
200 PPU
200 Aguila
Anyone have opinions on one verses another?

The only ones I shoot are Fiocchi and Lapua. I'm not sure about the others you have listed. 32 S&WL is so finicky I stick to the same head stamps when I load a batch. I have tried some mixed brass but had feeding problems. I initially bought some StarLine but found out it didn't work well. YMMV.

I've got ~1600 rds of starline brass, never had an issue... whats wrong with it?

I had accuracy problems with it at 50yds. I believe the brass is too thick. I can only go by my results. Initially I didn't have decent results with brand new Lapua brass. After being shot once it was great. Go figure. If StarLine worked for you, you know something I don't. YMMV.

I've heard its thicker, but after shooting a near x ring (9 of 10 in) group from a ransom rest at 50 yards with the first.load I tried I thought, "well no use tryimg.too hard here..."

Wow, that's amazing. I had to do a lot of load development and that was with H&N wad cutters. What expander did you use? Was it new or once shot? What's your load?

I shoot the 88gr Accurate bullet cast from soft lead coated 2x with hitek and sized to .315. The 314 shot significantly worse.. Primer was magtec small rifle (what I had at the time). 1.7 bullseye, heavy crimp... plan to play with loads some more this winter if I have time. Walther gsp btw

I have been shooting my model 52 because I have yet to load any .32 S&W as I heard it is so finicky. I do have a variety of factory Ammo to try first. What are everyone’s input on the various factory WC loads ?

Unfortunately I do not cast bullets so I won't be able to try your load. FWIW I bought some commercial Lapua 83gr and they wouldn't shoot worth a darn at 25yds. The point is I've never seen anything less than 98-100grs shoot worth beans at 50yds. You are the first I have heard. BTW I shoot a Pardini.

I bought a lot of Fiocchi years ago but only shoot it on the short line. It's accurate out to 49yds. That last yard it goes crazy. LOL. It's my source for once shot brass. I've tried commercial Magtech with similar results. I have actually had reasonable results with Magnus cast. When I say reasonable that's 10 ring and a couple flyers.

It's not just that some are too thick, the wall profile is tapered (*-* in particular) leading to disadvantage with the longer hbwc bullets . The 88 is short. Short and fast are remedies to a slow twist barrel (32&52)

A .312 drill shank ( a letter drill size) can be used as a depth gauge; you'll be amazed. RP and Lapua are straight wall. Fiocchi are next in line but also varying with years . Use search function FC60 Dave has a lot of good information.
