Crimp on 45 ACP over several lengths of brass
On my Hornady Lock-N-Load progressive press I set my 45 ACP crimp for 0.465" on long Starline brass (> 0.889"). While processing shorter brass (< 0.889" down to 0.885") I am happy to find samples are at minimum 0.466".
I like the tighter crimp (as recommended by the pistolsmith who built my 45) as I get less powder on my arm during a match when using Alliant Bullseye powder and the pistol runs cleaner.
Load is 200gr SWC cast over 4.0gr BE. (I just want to be in the repair center off-hand, long and short line at my classification.)

Giles recommended a .463 crimp with his guns so you aren't too tight. I changed mine from about .467-8 down to that and darned if it didn't group tighter and burn cleaner.

A good local crimp thread: 45ACP Crimp
(I'm actually just happy my long line brass crimp is reasonable on my shorter sustained fire brass. No need to spin the knob on my too fancy Redding Competition crimper.)
