CZ Kadet 22 conversion
Has anyone tried one of these? I face a situation where putting one of these on a CZ97 45ACP in order to have a 22 practice gun (for 25yds or less) might be a viable option.
I will not be shooting any matches, just need the trigger time.

There was a member here that went by "JoeL" or "Joe L" that shot one and used to post quite a bit about it here and on various other forums. If I recall, he posted lots of testing and targets.
If you can figure out how to search for his posts, it might be helpful.
He was really impressed with his.

DA/SA. Thanks. Ran a search for CZ Kadet and got straight to Joe L threads.
Duh! My bad, I should have run a search first!
Anyhow. Since Joe found it comparable to a 22/45, and I am quite familiar with those, all good. This is very early days and I most likely will run into a procurement obstacle, but at least I know that it should serve my purpose if I succeed.
Thank you Joe L.

Re: CZ Kadet 22 conversion
Being interested in conversions and the possibility to modify the available conversions so as to make it a better bullseye pistol I'm wondering where I can get one.

Re: CZ Kadet 22 conversion
Frank - good question. According to CZ USA they are discontinued. But I found at least one dealer in Europe that has them for sale (to EU only):-
https://www.krale.shop/en/conversion-unit-cz-kadet-2
There are a couple of websites in USA which offer them - but, be careful, they look bogus.
None on GunBroker that I can see.
I don't want one in USA anyway, and I now very much doubt that I shall be able to legally procure one.

Re: CZ Kadet 22 conversion
They are still available from multiple dealers in Canada.
I purchased mine to fit a 9mm CZ Shadow Line. Required some minor fitting with a file.
Mine is for the first version of the CZ Shadow, the ones currently for sale fit the Shadow 2.
No problems feeding standard velocity ammo, but it prefers oil rather than grease on the slide.

A CZ Cadet conversion has a serial number and is considered a firearm by the ATF. Just an FYI

That's interesting. When I bought my conversion several years ago it was NOT considered a firearm in Canada by the RCMP. I think the reasoning was because there is no frame attached.
Now, however, it doesn't matter because all handgun transactions for the most part are forbidden.

Dan Webb. Thanks, that fact is very relevant to me and pretty much kills the plan I was cooking. Glad that you warned me. Thanks.
