1911 trigger fitting Empty 1911 trigger fitting

i want to know for fit a 1911 trigger i fit only the top of the trigger or both sides and is neccesary a india stone? thanks

most times you only need to remove material from the top,

All triggers are not the same, even from the same manufacturer. I 99% of the time take from both top & bottom.

If you fit a lot of triggers EGW has a tool to measure the trigger slot..

Certainly helps getting you close.
Old triggers help too.

like Jon I normally remove and polish both the top and bottom. Even tapered the top and bottom to lesson contact surface for fun

I typically chamfer the top and bottom as well to eleminate any interference from a slightly non square corner in the trigger shoe space on the frame

As complex as fitting some triggers are ive had plenty that were a piece of cake only requiring very little fitting. I mostly use just Cylinder and slide match triggers which may be part of that.
