SOME HOW I FOUND MIDWAY USA SELLING NEW .45 ACP BRASS FOR $48.49 PER 500 PIECES. ALL THE SEARCHING I DID THE CONSENSUSES WAS THAT THE BRASS WAS MADE BY STARLINE.

I loaded mine today. Tempting, but don't need 1000 more. Loaded this 500 with 4.1 gr of WST behind Zero185 L-SWC.

MW must have moved so many on "Clearance"  that they thought the item was popular enough to regularly move.     Upside is they will have to clearance it again - unless its consistency makes it the new go-to case, even at full price.

Speculation this was an over run of brass when HPR was manufacturing ammo.  This is very consistent brass as pointed out in several posts.  It was good enough to get me to order a second order.

Many thanks for the info. The reason for the query is that some cases that I have seen that were claimed to be made by Starline have pretty splotchy lettering & #'s. Some letters run light, some run heave, & some run pretty crooked. The lettering shown looks perfect to me and about the same quality as Starlines.
OMG, you know it's winter when I ask queries like that. And I'm in the PRK.

I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE BRASS I HAD DELIVERED FROM MIDWAY. UPON INSPECTION I BELIEVE THE BRASS TO BE JAGEMANN IND. FROM WI. I HAD A LARGE SAMPLE THEY SENT ME FROM THE SHOTSHOW A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. I MEASURED A BUNCH OF BOTH AND THEY WERE TOO CLOSE TO CALL ANY DIFFERENCE. THAT BEING SAID I HAVE RANSOM REST TESTED THE JAGEMANN BRASS LAST YEAR. THE NECK TENSION WAS EXCELLENT. IT GROUPED AS WELL AS STARLINE . SO IF THE BRASS FROM M/W USA WASN'T MADE BY STARLINE. IT WILL STILL MAKE GREAT  SHOOTING AMMO. IF IT WASN'T CHRISTMAS TIME, I WOULD HAVE ORDERED MORE THAN I DID. JP

Don't forget the one shot. Brass is pretty hard. I had a little flaking and scratched some cases before I noticed that tiny flakes were building up and sticking to ceramic die. Head thumper. One shot fixed it along with some extra work cleaning die...

My batch of 1,000 showed up today. And Saturday my once fired Federal from a smith in TX showed up. Test ammo as factory wad cutter stuff. 1,200 pcs in the original boxes and trays for a really good price.
I have been wearing my Starline stuff out.
