FW 93 RED DOT SIGHT BASE
I was just reading about people having issues with their RED DOT sight base. I had mine made up by Savage Engineering to my 93 which I purchased in 06. It's tight and the DOCTER sight never came loose. I had him make a few of them which I still have. I don't shoot competition any more. It's a nice gun. I like the trigger. I had a Pardini too. Each has its pluses. With the Pardini I could move the sight to get the balance I wanted. I just adapt to what ever trigger I have. Now I shoot bench rest and occasionally my P210-6.
The FW is for sale as you may have noticed. I just shoot it every now and then to keep it functioning and oiled.

Curious, back when you were using it, was your red dot sight attached to the slide, or to the frame?

The micrometer sight was removed and a sight base was machined that drops in, pinned in the front in the same location as the MICO sight was pinned and 2 set screws then tighten it down in the back.
To answer your question, on the frame. I have 3 left and they are drilled for the DOCTER sights. They do NOT come loose.

If the sights were frame mounted, that eliminates what I think most of the problem was, the slide slamming back and forth. Any chance you have a photo of the gun?
Was the sight one of these?

I did have a photo. I'l see if I can get it. I took the sight off and replaced the miro sight. I do have a picture on gunbroker with the base in the box next to the gun.
Sorry but I do not know those links.

Re: FW 93 RED DOT SIGHT BASE
I'll be busy this weekend so if you have any more questions I'll respond as soon as I can.
The gun is for sale, see GUNBROKER. No DOCTER SIGHT, but sight base included.
If you want a base I can sell it for $125.00 plus shipping $12.00 USPS Priority, CONUS only.
I'll check my emails later this afternoon or tomorrow.
