Got me a new job!!!
Finally I can share the news more openly! I've already posted this on Facebook and some of you have probably seen it there already but I thought I'd post it here for the non-facebook people - I know of some. I have applied, and have received a Letter of Acceptance to the United States Army Marksmanship Unit. I will be visiting a recruiter next week some time to start the enlistment process! I'm very excited. It means a move from here in Tennessee to Georgia but it's gonna be a new adventure for me and my family and a good one I think.

Wow, congratulations! What is involved in what you are doing? Regular soldier and you are on the shooting team?

Do you have a full back tattoo of that logo yet!! I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to resist, and this is from a guy with no tattoos. Congrats!! I'm a bit jealous, ok maybe a lot lol.

Infantry would be my MOS so if I pass MEPS and get into basic training I'll do AIT after and then rather go to an infantry job I go to the AMU. The AMU is the job. Shooter/Instructor.

Re: Got me a new job!!!
I think Benning has a combined Basic-AIT for infantry. Makes it 20 weeks or so. I think the AMU also wants their soldiers to shoot more than one discipline. If so you might try Highpower.
And don’t become a stranger to this place once your “on the team”. It’d be nice to have good honest current techniques rather than historic blathering from us old fogeys.

I might be wrong but I think service pistol does action pistol too. Not sure how that works yet.

Five years ago I walked into a warehouse as a new hire. Coworkers I hadn’t met yet knew they were getting a “new guy”. They said “we don’t care what this dudes name is let’s call him Tim no matter what.” ...as a prank. Five years later and I’m still Tim in the warehouse. My name is Jason Gregoire.

Congratulations Jason, I kind of had a heads up 2 weeks ago when I talked to Terry. I told him I bought your old box and he knew they were looking at you. I was hoping to meet you next spring at Match Masters Regional, I'm going down for the week, probably longer since I'm bringing my wife along to see the sights also.
Like I told Terry, I think you'll go a lot further than you can imagine. I'm real proud of you.

Thank you very much. I’m the following weeks I’ll be at the GA state and TN state matches. Hope to meet anyone from here down there! GA has a sweet range!

Thank you - sadly once I enlist I think I’m going to go silent on the forums as for shoot talk. Something to do with “opinions of the army” and such. But I’ll still keep an eye on clarifies haha

Here is a clause you don't want to hear "for the good of the service" Don't shoot any 6's. Infantry goes to Afghanistan. No pressure. Congrats Jason.
