S&W PC1911
Hi
I went by my local GS looking to get some large pistol primers as I am down to my last few hundred.
There was a used Smith & Wesson Performance Center 1911 in the case for $1150. Nice trigger, nice condition.
Does anybody use one for our sport?
Are these Bullseye accurate? Like 2"-3" shooters?
Shop owner claims it will shoot X's and 10's at 50 yards all day long.
Thanks for your responses.
Paul

Are you wanting to shoot irons or dot? Personally if I was spending $1200 I would save a bit more, for $1400-$1600 you can usually find a pretty nice used bullseye wadgun,

Highly highly doubt they wil perform that well. Will they let you take it apart and sharpie and check fit ?

From the videos on here, https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/performance-center-model-sw1911-0. It looks like they do all the necessary fitup required. But will it hold 10 ring at 50? Probably as well as the Les Baer in the same price range. Will it be as good as a quality built wadgun that someone is selling? Probably not.

Hate posts like these. Went to GB to look at pc1911 and ended up bidding on one. Slap my wrist. Looked good to me.

Re: S&W PC1911
Personally I never been a S&W centerfire semi auto fan. Saw one in Charlie Alexander's hands a few years back. I Asked Charlie about it. He said after he retired from the NG he shot for S&W for a few years and they had provided the 1911 from their custom shop. He said the S&W gunsmiths did not know how to build a bullseye gun. Said a good going over by a competent bullseye gunsmith made it a good gun.

Re: S&W PC1911
My understanding is that the frames are forged steel and the components are good, the non standard extractor is probably a good idea. I would think that the potential is there for a good iron sight bulleye gun. If it was not for the stupid CA gun roster I would bid on it.
