Scenario:  You want to shoot full power factory 230 ammo in a full size 1911with iron sights.  There are no restrictions on what You can do to gun internally.   What are some of the things that can be done to reduce  recoil to help with follow up shots?

Proper barrel fit; upper lug engagement and lower lug bearing surface. Keeps slide in battery longer thus slowing its rearward travel velocity. Combine with correct springs.

You didn't say whether external changes are ok or not, but if so, mount a compensator.  Also, anything that adds weight... barrel weights, accessories added to the dust cover, heavier guide rod, large mag well, heavier grips, lead in the bottom of the magazine, huge scope/red dot, etc.
