Help with nose dive in 9mm 1911
When a target grade 9mm 1911 is having issues with JHP 147 subsonic ammo nose diving into the feed ramp , what can it be attributed to? Happens a lot , but not all the time . NEVER happens with 115 , 124 FMJ or JHP ammo driven 1100+ fps. Recoil spring used is 14lbs. Magazines are Wilson and McCormick.

Not sure if this is the "proper" way to fix that, but I've had repeated luck using the following method:
#1 - buy an EGW high catch magazine release. That'll hold your mags higher up in the gun, and just doing this might fix the problem.
#2 - incrementally widen the feed lips on your magazine. A little bit goes a long way.

You might try a lighter recoil spring. The heavier spring may be "short stroking" the slide and not giving the round a chance to feed properly.
+1 on tweaking the mags.
