Attached are two pictures of targets shot with very light .38 Super loads. The first is 20 shots at 27 yards with the load I described earlier using the Penn 115 grain bullet and 3.13 grains of Bullseye. This was shot using sand bags as a rest, but I still had quite a bit of movement in the dot so I suspect the wide shots are my error. I should mention that this gun has an 8 pound recoil spring and a Vortex Venom sight. The second target is 20 shots with the Dardas 126 grain bullet and 2.62 grains of Bullseye at a little over 50 yards using a RR.  There were no settling or fouling shots. I cut the group out and placed on a 50 yard target for comparison.

My .38 Super is pretty much a typical 1911. It was built using a Caspian slide and frame, a Kart barrel with the Clark/Para style ramp, and EGW ignition parts. The firing pin stop, also an EGW part, has only a very slight radius on the edge that cocks the hammer. The recoil spring is currently 8 lbs. and the main spring is 19 lbs.
