Model 41 grips Empty Model 41 grips

Post by LenV 12/6/2018, 9:24 pm

I have recently gotten into a head butting contest with a seller on Ebay. I told him these can't be for a model 41 since it uses 4 screws and there is no place on a 41 to screw them into. I have never seen a 4 screw grip for a 41. Has anyone ever seen a set of grips for a 41 with this configuration? Just curious. Seller got pretty hostile when I told him they wouldn't work. I will be glad to apologize if I was wrong. Maybe not glad exactly.

Len,
Those look like early factory target grips for an M41.

They do look a lot like early model 41 grips. But I have no idea how they would mount on the frame. These older target grips look the same but the screw holes look further to the rear of the grips. They have to be since there is no metal in the middle.

Those grips are definitely cut for a 41 in my opinion just by examining the auctions pictures. But I agree, it's odd to see four screws. They normally have just two long screws that pass all the way through and thread into the other grip panel. I suppose it could be possible that someone out there may have.. for what ever reason I couldn't guess - threaded the frame's screw holes and used four individual screws instead of the factory screw design. Again I don't know or see why to do that but it's the only idea I have. They do though look like 41 grips to me.

I also see that one of the screws is "missing" according to the pictures and the auctions item description. Perhaps someone didn't know any better about what grips they had, what they were for, or even how they attached.
