Annoying ads have appeared
What is up with the dancing ads suddenly appearing ? Tried logging out and then back in. The ads are there either way.

You could try adding an ad blocker to your browser. They work pretty well.

Re: Annoying ads have appeared
I use Firefox as a browser and MSN started putting up some very ugly full page ads for everything under the sun about 3 weeks ago. I have AdAware+ and Firefox or MSN or both block my E-Mail and won't allow me to open it. I have to turn off As-aware+ and then re-start my computer, then take care of any pending E-Mail and then turn AdAware+ on again & restart the computer. A real pain in the arse. If you're using MSN, it is probably them you are getting the ads from.

Hmm, as far as I know, we are caught up on payments to the hosting service and you should not be seeing ads, unless you are not logged in as a member.
I run ad blockers so do not see them generally and have to count on users to let us know if there is an issue.
In the past, we have had a some major ad issues that were just caused by not realizing a payment was due and the forum reverted back to “ad sponsored” mode rather than “owner paid” (ad free) mode. I will contact the forum owner and check on it for you. Only the owner can access those functions, so I can’t tell you the status myself.

I don't see any ads as me or Founder other that the "Topic'it" mobile app banner when I'm on Android/ Chrome.
On PC Chrome, I don't see any ads either. Can those of you who are seeing ads make sure that your browser hasn't been compromised? Maybe share some screen shots?
Are you seeing more ads on other websites?

Re: Annoying ads have appeared
I'm sorry, Ron,
I don't know what to tell you. The forum is paid off to prevent ads from the forum vendor. I've had instances where I went to a website that installed ad software into my browser and it was difficult to get rid of it.
If you log off of the forum, you will be able to see the ads that the forum vendor embeds into the forum software to see if they are similar. Let us know.

I'm not real computer savvy, but on the address bar in front of the www.bullseyeforum.net it says not secure. Does that mean anything bad? I use an acer chromebook , but don't get annoying ads.

I haven't figured out how to get the secure socket to work...I'm paying for it, but I'm guessing things like this work as poorly as the mobile app. It's not a problem really, but I'm looking to make things better.

Rob, the only thing I know about it is what my God Son told me. It has to have https:// in front and not to give out personal info like credit card and the like if it doesn't.

Re: Annoying ads have appeared
Rob, you can enable SSL config on the Misc/Credits Management/Summary page. Yep, you have paid for it with the current hosting. Sorry, I can’t give you more info, I can’t access deeper than that, only you can. You can send me an email or PM with a screenshot of what is on that SSL config page and I can maybe help more. The forumotion support info I dug up was an old post from 2017 and there were just a couple buttons to click to get it rolling.
@john. I am on iOS right now and forum is running OK. It looks like you clicked on the “new posts” button and there are none to display, so you are getting a blank result. Click the forum header to take you to the main page and you should see the regular forum pages.

Re: Annoying ads have appeared
I'll keep working on it as I have time. The forum software vendor has made numerous changes to the platform recently and it's all about their ability to generate revenue with the software. I don't think we can fault them for that. I suspect that their is a developer issue at play here, and I just haven't had any luck reaching them for support over the years.
Maybe now that we pay more, it will be easier for me to obtain support. We will see.
