6 or 8 MOA Tube type red dot
Who makes a decent tube type red dot in 6 or 8 MOA, 30mm or more, other than the Matchdot by UD?
Thanks!

Sightron S33-4R They are a little big but give you a lot of dot/reticle choices. I have one in the safe. I just looked and it has 4 reticles but may not have 6 or 8. 33mm tube.

Ooh. Looks like using the circle dot, the dot is 8MOA. Len, have you used this on anything larger than a 22?

Does mounting one on a mini 14 count? I have a S33 mil-spec mounted on a .223 but the S33-4R has never been mounted and shot. I have more dots then I really need so I move them around sometimes. Because of it's size I plan/planned on putting it on a wheel gun or a .22. I would not want to slide mount it. I weighed all my scopes once. It weighs 6.2 oz and a MD II weighs 5.4oz.Dcforman wrote:Ooh. Looks like using the circle dot, the dot is 8MOA. Len, have you used this on anything larger than a 22?

It still weighs less then an Aimpoint 9000sc which weighs 7.3oz so it is certainly possible to do.

Why go larger than 4 MOA? 4 typically almost covers the entire bull.

Re: 6 or 8 MOA Tube type red dot
Just been playing around with my match dot lately. I found that using the 8moa dot makes it easier to focus on the dot during sustained fire and not let it drift to the target. I could probably achieve the same thing by just continuing training. I recently discovered I was looking at the target, not the dot, and it was contributing to jerking the trigger during sustained fire. Shot the 8MOA setting for some slow fire targets and found out I don't mind it at all...

And after hearing y'all talk out the UD negative magnification, and experiencing the clarity of aimpoint optics, I'm just curious as to what's out there!

Not a bad Red Dot. Used one for Bullseye before I got my UD. Can get them on Ebay for about $60.cforman wrote:Who makes a decent tube type red dot in 6 or 8 MOA, 30mm or more, other than the Matchdot by UD?
