Precision Pistol Matches in St.George, UT
Anyone know of PP clubs or PP Matches being held in St. George, UT or vicinity? Maybe even Mesquite, AZ and Las Vegas, NV. Can't seem to find anything with internet searches.
Thinking about maybe moving out that way.....
Thanks.

I live in Las Vegas and I have not been able to find any bullseye matches nearby.

That is the plan....have the reconnaissance completed and a likely venue picked out. Now just to pack up the house and actually move......Wobbley wrote:Build it and they will come...

Re: Precision Pistol Matches in St.George, UT
Finally got the move from Michigan to SW Utah completed in December and finally starting to settle down a bit (It's warm here!!!). Joined the local club (Red Cliffs R & P Associaton) in Hurricane, UT and have the ok from the BOD to start a fledgling outdoor BE program (following the "Build it and they will come" adage above from Wobbley ). We are starting from scratch, so it may take a month or two to get going, initially on fixed targets and if we start to grow, then invest in a turning target system.
This is just an FYI for those you that may be interested in attending matches in the St. George/Hurricane, UT area once a month. Most probably sanctioned by CMP, and 1800 format initially.
Relatively small population base to draw from locally, but not too far from Las Vegas, Henderson, NV or Mesquite, AZ, Salt Lake City (anyone?). Maybe some of our BE comrades in Kommiefornia can break out occasionally to see what freedom feels like?
More to come as things develop.....

Interdasting. A guy who works for me lives in St. George.
Would be happy to shoot a match if I'm ever out that way.

John, glad to have you come shoot with us anytime, maybe that gives you extra incentive to come see the guy that works for you! Bring him along as well...not sure if he is a shooter, but we are willing to convert him as necessary!

Re: Precision Pistol Matches in St.George, UT
Humble beginnings (four participants) at our first match held yesterday, but an encouraging start with lots of good feedback and learning. The BOD and range staff here at RCRPR are very supportive, and open to improvements/changes to help grow the program.
The wind picked up in the middle of the RF match and by the time we started the CF match it was blowing target stands down and pistol boxes over...nothing that some cinder blocks and straps didn't fix. Trying to keep guns on target was a whole another matter......
We had fun, and the word is getting out, looking forward to the next match and growing the program! Feels good to be shooting again!

Where do you shoot now? I joined Desert Sportsmen on W Charleston hoping maybe there would be some BE shooters.flyer898 wrote:I live in Las Vegas and I have not been able to find any bullseye matches nearby.

Are you still running matches? We're finally settled enough to get out and the weather is getting decent so ...TonyH wrote:Humble beginnings (four participants) at our first match held yesterday, but an encouraging start with lots of good feedback and learning. I have another friend who would come up to shoot too.
Thanks,

Hi Ray! Yes, still running CMP League 22 900 matches even other week on Tuesday evenings. We have two matches remaining for the season (Oct. 18 and 25) if you would like to join us. I sent you details via email...hope you can make it and join us on the line. Hope to do something for the winter as well but undecided as of yet...
