Any bullseye league in NW Florida near Eglin?
Hello,
I just moved to northwest Florida. I'm in Niceville. I looked up the CMP competition tracker and there isn't much listed for Florida. There are two EIC matches coming up but Palm Springs is nine hours away from me and Jacksonville is about six hours away. Is there anything closer? Are there any bullseye leagues I can shoot in, closer to here? I can't find any on google. I know there are shooting ranges but I get tired of just going to the range by myself. Can anyone make a suggestion please?

Pensacola rifle and pistol
900 pistol match is held every Thursday, 9:30 a.m. (weather permitting)
Match Director: Don Moak
Match Fee: Free! You must supply your own target supplies (available at the range for nominal cost) Come early enough to be set up and ready to start firing at 9:30am sharp.
This range is 20 minutes north of pensacola near the town of Cantonment. I do remember that the range was a bit difficult to find and that the GPS took us to the other end of the road the club is on, but the road does not go through. Approach from the north.
This match was more of an organized practice session. The people there were quite friendly and welcoming to two new shooters. We only shot one morning as we were passing through on a motorhome trip.

Hi! My name is Jim and I help out with the pistol program at the Pensacola Rifle and Pistol Club. I've been away from this site for awhile and have just seen your post.
We host a 900 on Thursdays at 9:30, it is a casual match, it's free so you bring your own supplies and score for yourself. Targets are for sale in one of our block houses. It's pretty popular--I work weekdays so it is a rare opportunity for me to attend.
On fourth Saturdays, we run 2700 beginning at 9:30am. Our next match will be on March 23, then April 27 which is the week before the Fiesta of Five Flags Regional which is scheduled for May 4-5. Our range has 45 turning targets.
Our homepage has the match programs available for download www.pensacolarifleandpistolclub.com/ . I noticed someone posted earlier about GPS having a difficult time. That is correct, I always recommend NOT to use a GPS since the road exists, but is not maintained. Use the map in the Fiesta program which will give you landmarks when to turn off HWY 29.
Please feel free to email me at pistol@pensacolarifleandpistolclub.com if you need any for information. For the regional check out our homepage, there is a contact there which comes to me and out stat officer who takes the entries.
Hope you are able to make it out to shoot with us!

Re: Any bullseye league in NW Florida near Eglin?
Thanks for the info and the invite. I tried to find the range yesterday but could not. I forgot that he said to approach from the north side. I was using an electronic map that did not have the access road on it. Difficult to find, so I gave up. The range is about 80 miles from my house. I wish it were closer. I am going to move next year actually, to Crestview, so that will put me closer to the range.
I found out that I should have put these coordinates into my GPS in order to find the range.
30.665911, -87.351304 (in decimal degrees)
30° 39.9547 N, 87° 21.0782 W (in degrees decimal minutes)
Then, one would turn left onto Mathison Road from there, then left again onto John Wilson Road.
If one enters the address or location of the range itself, the GPS gets confused and tries to send the driver up through the south side, which is inaccessible.
I saved the correct waypoint so next month, hopefully, I will be able to make it. I understand there is a EIC competition at the club on May 4, so I'll be going to that, too.

Hey, I live in Valparaiso and regularly practice bullseye shooting at the new shooting range in Valparaiso, Fl. We should go train sometime. I also just participated in the 2700 match in Pensacola pistol and rifle range too.

How did you like the range in Valparaiso? I just went there this weekend to check it out, but it looks crazy expensive. If I read the ad correctly, it's $15/hour. A bit steep for me!

I like it a lot, mainly because of location as its 4 mins away from me. Its easy to underestimate distance when it comes to somewhere you’re gonna visit often. It’s just easier for me to motivate myself if the range is right next door than an hour and 15 minutes away.
I applied for membership ASAP so I can pay a lower rate of $13.31/hr , and I regularly go to their “rifle” range as it reaches 25 yds. Overall, service is good, quality is good and location is awesome. Next closest range to me is Hurlburt.

If it were only $15/hr I would go there, but with an additional fee of $170/year, that's too much for me. I checked out their pistol bay and it only goes out to 17 yards/45 feet. They do let you fire pistols on the rifle range though, which goes out to 25 yards. That would be the distance to practice on for bullseye. I found out about a range in Crestview that has pistol stands at 25 yards.

That's just what I need to get ready for the next EIC match.
That being said, it would be cool to meet you some day and get practiced up for bullseye pistol. I just ordered some B-8 targets for the 25 yard line.
There's a EIC pistol match on May 4 at the Pensacola Rifle and Pistol club. I finally figured out how to get there. Hopefully I will see you there.

Nah, you don’t need a membership to shoot there. You just get a lower rate if you were a member.
