38 Cal Bear Creek 148 HBWC test
I
I started the testing of the Bear Creek 38 cal. 148 HBWC bullets. Not enough testing to reach any conclusions so these are just first impressions.
The gun is my S&W 52-2 with the Burris FF3 dot. I shot 3 groups from a rest and one offhand. The results look ok but I’m not steady shooting from a rest in the indoor pistol range where these were shot. The bench is flimsy and prone to vibration. I shoot better when the whole arm is rested and all I could do was rest my hand on a rifle forend rest. More testing is in order, certainly.
An overall of the test groups.
The Bear Creek Target
Speer old style with the grooves
Magnus loaded at 2.8 Bullsey in a different batch
The group shot offhand

Nice clean holes for 25 yards. No tippers. 2.6 is pretty low ?

Functioning was fine, and Speer had good functioning as low as 2.5..
Yeah, it seems promising. But final judgement is still out. I’d like to test them in a revolver and I have a python that really really shoots well. But this indoor range has really crappy lighting.
