$600-$700. Certainly no more than a genuine HS.

Swing by Rimfire central and look for Aaron Aronstein. Not sure spelling is exact. He worked for High standard and will know much more about that model. Some had large magazine cavities, some had holes in the wrong place. This does not mean THAT gun is bad.

As I remember I heard something about the High Standard clones (don't know which ones) had trouble ejecting spent brass. I believe it had something to do with the length of the ejector? Be careful!

Several Mitchell HS were seen in league when they were new on the market. But not for long.

Some of the parts were interchangeable with HS OEM guns. That is what I would consider buying Mitchell guns for, provided price is reasonable. But then, fc60 posted list of parts for HS he has available, and it is way better value.

Being an old "has been" has some benefits. I remember when they first came out. Their reputation was not good. I don't remember how accurate they were, but their reliability wasn't good. I'd certainly pass. They are aesthetically pleasing, though.

not sure about the old, or the has been,
however I also recall when they were released,
I thought about buying one, since I was a HS fan at an early age, however after handling one at a gunshow, and hearing reports (this was pre internet) from some folks that bought them, I declined

I bought one when they first came out. Didn't stay in my gun box but a couple of months. Failure to feed, fire, extract and generally a pain in the but.
