380 ACP with Copper coated lead
I'm starting to reload 380s. I use a lot of Bullseye and like Berry 100g Hybrid HollowPoints. I've been reloading 9mm, 45ACP, 44mag, 270, 30/06, 223, 38spl, for a couple years but just starting 380s. I'm thinking about using 2.6 grains of Bullseye with these Berry Hybrid HPs. I use a Lee Classic Turret press mostly. Any suggestions?

Lee Classic press.
My son and my friends do a lot of shooting at a local range. I shot 150 rounds of 9mm yesterday using my Springfield SD-S 9mm yesterday. I didn't care for this SD-S when I first purchased it but as I shoot it more, I'm enjoying it more. Anyone else on this forum using a Lee Classic Turret press? As I read the messages it seems to me that most everyone uses a big $2000 Dillon? Maybe I should repost this in "Equipment discussion"?

Dan, I am glad I read this again. You kind of switched subjects there. I have zero experience using lead bullets in a .380 so had no comment. I have lots of experience using Lee turret press. I use mine all the time. I use the turret for all my small batch stuff now but I used to use it for everything. Did I switch to a 2000.00 unit? Nope. I just went to a Progressive in Lee. Loaded a bunch of .357 mag on it yesterday.

I used to load 380s using 95 gr lead bullets. At the time, I was using a SIG P230 for off-duty carry and I was using the reloads for training. I had two problems reloading for it: bullet setback (not much bearing surface) and sifting through all those 9mm and 32 ACP empties on the ground at the range. Dillon helped out with the setback issue. Now if I want to shoot the 380--a Glock 42 at present--I wait for a Brownells 10% off/free shipping sale.

Reply to LenV, NICE neat reloading bench. I see your Lee Loadmaster press. I thought about getting one, Cabella's has them for $305. For now though, I think I'll just stick with my lee Classic turret. Since I'm almost 80, I don't feel like learning another new press . Thanks for the reply. Dan D

Re: 380 ACP with Copper coated lead
Hello LenV again, I carefully considered buying myself a new Lee Loadmaster press but I decided to buy another Lee Classic Turret set for my oldest son's 57th birthday present. He's been reloading for several years using a single stage press. He's setting up the Turret press to reload the 380s now. He's a little slow on reloading right now since he's a 2nd shift cnc operator at a local factory then hunts Coyotes from midnight until 5 or 5:30 am. Anyhow, with both of us using a Lee Classic Turret press, we'll have all the ammo we can shoot .
