Re: Ultradot question
Curious, none of us can shoot without protective eye wear anyway, so since you're going to be wearing shooting glasses, have you tried to get a pair of prescription glasses that corrects your astigmatism? All those TV commercials imply that glasses are no longer that expensive, and making them from polycarbonate lenses for safety shouldn't add that much to the cost.lablover wrote:Which current ultradot or matchdot do you or would you trust on a wad gun. Yep, thats what I meant. If your astigmatism is only in one eye, switch to the other eye.lablover wrote:Thank you sir. Just tried it. Works, just need to shift my head a bitjames r chapman wrote:Joe, I shoot left hand, right eye. occluder over dominant eye..

I am right eye dominant but last year found out they can no longer correct it. I switched to my left by doing what Jim does and it has been great.

Don’t know if you have tried an iris. I just made a post about them. It is the second one in this thread.

Funny, just saw it and posted. It’s that time of year for the eye doc so I may go to the one Chapman recommended that’s local and works with Shooter’s. Getting very frustratingwillnewton wrote:Don’t know if you have tried an iris. I just made a post about them. It is the second one in this thread.

Re: Ultradot question
Your eye doctor will put the correction for astigmatism in to your prescription. He can also put it in to a simple magnification lens (reader) as well. Like Prego, it will be in there.

Re: Ultradot question
I have astigmatism as well. For me, it cannot be completely corrected with glasses. I do have matchdot II and have been playing with dot size. For the longer time I was set at 2 and read on here about what others have found put with larger sized dots. Bigger dot size did help with the the tails coming off the dot.

Re: Ultradot question
Just remember to keep it low as possible for brightness setting. I have not shot outdoors yet. So will see what happens than.
At this point. That is what is working for me.
