Annealing Cases
Hi everyone,
I reload .32 S&W for my Walther GSP. In order to get reliable feeding I have found that I need to put a fairly aggressive roll crimp on them and as a consequence the mouth of the cases eventually crack. Is is possible or even practical to anneal the case mouth or is it more trouble than its worth?
Thanks, Paul

In cases that small it is VERY DIFFICULT to keep the heat away from the head of the case. Best is to buy new.

Re: Annealing Cases
Have you considered that the problem is probably with the feed ramp and/or chamber entrance.
Annealing pistol brass is a little bit out of the norm.

Re: Annealing Cases
Greetings,
Consider the use of a good Taper Crimp die.
I have used one with my Walther since the early '90's when I bought my Star tool head.
Or, back off on the roll crimp so the pistol still feeds reliably.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Annealing Cases
Dave, I’d love to move back to a taper crimp but after finally getting the miss feeding problems sorted I’m reluctant to tinker around with what is working. Still with that said there is no harm in trying.Cheers, Paul

TRY A REDDING .32 S&W PROFILE CRIMP DIE. IT'S A TAPER CRIMP WITH A SLIGHT ROLL. IT GREATLY AIDS IN FEEDING THE WADCUTTER CARTRIDGES. JIM P

Thanks, JIMPGOV, I was looking for recommendations on a taper crimp die too.
