KC Crawford roll trigger kit
I installed a KC Crawford roll trigger kit in my factory stock SA Range Officer and I like it a lot. It seems to have dropped the trigger pull weight a little bit. I'm thinking of installing the same roll trigger kit in my Rock River Arms Wadcutter Gun. Will it drop the trigger pull or remain the same since it was already worked on at the factory? Right now it is exactly at 3.5 so lowering the pull would make it under the rule.
Or is it blasphemy to replace what is in the Rock River now?

It's your gun, nobody cares what you do to it, as long as it's legal....til you start beating them.
If it ends up being too light you just have to do a little adjusting with the springs.

Rather than adjusting the sear spring, consider buying another, This way you keep a sear spring, sear, disconnector and hammer in the same group. Swap out all parts and put them back it should be the same.
Having a dedicated complete group saves much time and effort in swapping trigger components. Some of this is friction, but sometimes I find slightly different length hammer struts contribute greatly to trigger pull weight when swapping out groups.
Hey, that's my experience anyway. Sear springs are the least expensive component.

Thanks Martin, great advice on keeping a dedicated complete group of trigger components.

You may want to consider bumping it a little. A little extra oil finding it's way to the sear could put you under 3.5, even a higher temp can impact the weight. I found that out the hard way on the line at Perry. I had used the official NRA weights and had my trigger set to 4 230gr bullets over 3.5 but had it fail in the 20 degree warmer weather at Perry. I now set it at 3.75lbsWillfish30 wrote: Right now it is exactly at 3.5 so lowering the pull would make it under the rule.

One other thing. If you train with your RO or use it for EIC matches, then I would make both pistols the same type of trigger, roll or crisp. They won’t be the same necessarily but they’ll be easier to go from one to the other.
