FAS SP602 Malfunction Empty FAS SP602 Malfunction

Post by dannyboy 6/22/2019, 9:09 am

I recently got a FAS SP602 in the 4kserial number range. Shoots better than I do.

I tested it with 6 types of Standard Velocity ammo and the third round it will fully chamber the third round, but will not cock the gun for firing.

My search fu hasn't found anything, and I can't find a youtube video on disassembly. So before I create a bag gun and gunsmith bills, asking for help is warranted.

Does anyone have any clues?

Only have 1 magazine, can't find more online.

The FAS likes European Ammo. Have you tried any of the ELY products? Mine ran well on Club and Target. American made ammo is longer and will drag in the magazine. Make sure the buffer is in good shape. You might want to try a new recoil spring. Also check the trigger setting to make sure the hammer isn't following.

I know where there is a magazine.

Great little pistol.

I've found this to be true.
However, I shoot CCI SS HP almost exclusively with my 607. Very, very rarely do I have any issues.

I'd certainly check the bullet for signs of rubbing. Might be slowing the bolt. But when I've had feeding problems the pistol usually fails to chamber the round and the top round in the magazine usually shows damage from the bolt.
