Port Clinton Breakfast Spots
I'm staying off base for the first time. Are there any recommended breakfast spots in town? I love a good diner.

Tin Goose Diner at the airport.

Ala Carte Café, down the street past McCarthy's, about 1 block on the left. Right before the railroad bridge. They open at 4:00 AM I think. Nothing fancy but good food, good friendly service. They also have box lunches available.

Oh no, the secret is out. We discovered this place in the last couple years when the mess hall went away. Made us wish we had found it sooner.TomH_pa wrote:Ala Carte Café, down the street past McCarthy's, about 1 block on the left. Right before the railroad bridge. They open at 4:00 AM I think. Whitey's Diner in Fremont has the best breakfast. Their sausage patty gets its own plate! Although it is a little drive, it is worth at least one trip if you are staying near Camp Perry.

After shooting, go to Toft's Ice Cream in Port Clinton. Excellent product, huge servings (get a single scoop, it's enough), and great service.

If I have time in the morning (shooting 3rd relay) I usually go to the Tin Goose.
Frisch's Big Boy is also ok.

Re: Port Clinton Breakfast Spots
for lunch or dinner, try Kozy Corners over in Oak Harbor,
short drive from Perry (maybe 20 minutes?)
excellent vittles

Wild Wings is about 5 miles west of Camp Perry on Route 2 with good breakfast and casual food service, they also offer a shooter's discount if you request the discount when ordering.
Porky's, located a bit before Wild Wings, is always a good choice for pizza and a beer at the end of the day. Porky's "Pig Knuckles" or "Bones" are a must if you think your cardiologist would approve. Personally, the open-face toasted sandwiches are my favorites.

Wayback in the mid 1980s there was a Mexican place called Margaritaville in Sandusky. A bit far for breakfast or lunch but might be someplace for dinner?
