38 HBWC manufacturer opinions
As I hope to come into possession of a 38 Special 1911 next week - I'm looking for some 'reference' ammunition to compare the reloads with (and yes I have been reading the lengthy posts on doing such. Something tells me this is going to be interesting)
I had very good results with Magtech and Zero ammo in 158g 38 for DR and I note that they do rounds the 148g HBWC as well. Anyone used these enough to have an opinion?
Thanks
Derek
PS Expect yet another flood of "how do I get a HBWC to do ...."

Re: 38 HBWC manufacturer opinions
probably best now is from Precision Delta. I'm not sure on the accuracy of the current offerings from Remington and Winchester.
You might also check with Michigan Ammo. we shoot a lot of it up here.

Re: 38 HBWC manufacturer opinions
Fiocchi doesn’t function in my 52.
S&B shoots ok and functions. As do Magtech, and Blackhills Ammo
Zero is about the same.
Winchester, Federal and Remington are probably the most consistent with Federal being generally the best right now. I’d get 100 rounds of each and test them. Then buy 500 of the best overall as a “Reference lot”. Scour the gunshows and look for Winchester Super-Match , Remington Targetmaster and Federal Redbox Wadcutters loads.
