Thin Grips 1911 Empty Thin Grips 1911

Post by lanjo Wed Sep 11, 2019 6:53 pm

Hi All,

I was wondering what brands of thin grips for 1911 work well.  I have a modified Kimber frame with the ambi safety. I see Houge has them for $55 + $20 for the screws and mounts.  Are there any others out there who make good products?  Looking for ones with some roughness to help with the grip, not smooth.

Best,

Joe

I have Ed Brown on my 2 Colt 1911's.  Bought several years ago don't remember what they cost me.

Hi Allen,

Took a look at the Ed Brown web site.  I don't think they make the thin grips anymore, just insanely expensive pistols.  Do you have the web address for what you bought?

Best,

Joe

On the web page below, if you click the product drop down boxes, you will see the option for their slimline grips.

Vzgrips makes many different thin grips out of G10. Little pricey, but very grippy

There have been several other threads on this subject recently - do a search.

Sharkskin recommended by many.

I like Lava grips from Copper guns

Just did a search on the Ed brown site under Products and then under grips/grip bushings/grip screws and they offer 2 different slim grip sets in Black Cherry.  You just have to dig in the site to find them.
