My spring reverted back to 5.5 lbs
Long story short, I used to have a 5 lb trigger in my 1911. I bent it myself, the middle leaf, to make it ~3.5 lbs. Tonight I had a smith weigh it and it was 5 lbs again. I took the pistol apart and bent it again and got it down to 3.5 again.
It seems that the leaf spring had returned to its original shape as it came from the factory, after about 2000 rounds. Maybe if I heat treat it, it will stay at the same weight. Was wondering if this happened to anyone else before -- your trigger lightening reverting itself.

Very common for 1911 sear springs to go back or near a previous weight. Sometimes you have to slightly overbend then get to desired weight.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad I found out about this before the rimfire EIC match this weekend. I've been shooting a 5 lb trigger in my .22 for months and I had no idea. That could make the difference between winning and losing!
