Best way to clean a dirty Marval Compensator
Whats the best way to clean a dirty compensatory?
Came across one that looks like its never been cleaned.
Please don't tell me to clean it with MERCURY.

Soak it in Kroil overnight & clean it with a 30 cal brass brush. When done put it in a drawer .

Dave, the one I bought from you took soaking, ultrasonic and then Dremmel round wire brush. The comp got very hot and the crusty stuff came off in sheets and tested positive for lead.
Clean and in the drawer now

Kroil is good, but expensive so I use Hoppe's. Just let it soak.

Put a torch on it, low flame. Lead will peel right off.

But please don't do this indoors! Especially if your family has young'uns.

How about leave the lead in and enjoy the extra weight aiding recoil/muzzle flip recovery during timed and rapid fire strings?
