CMP 2020 Pistol Match rules
First topic message reminder :
https://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads/2020PistolRules_Draft.pdf
Here are the preliminary rules.
Pistol rules start at 4.1.6 and what you are going to shoot start at
5.2.
Looks to me exactly like a NRA 2700

Re: CMP 2020 Pistol Match rules
The CMP is doing a lot for the shooting sports in general. Especially as the NRA seems to be falling down on the job, for several reasons.
They posted draft 2020 rules in advance, hopefully with the intent of getting feedback. How much they will heed that feedback remains to be seen.
I would expect their first attempt at rules for a 2700 to have a bunch of problems. But so what? Outside of Camp Perry next year, are there any 2700 match directors out there planning to change their sanction for their matches from NRA to CMP? I wouldn't, if I were still running matches.

Seems like a clear and honest answer to me.MarkF45 wrote:Here is the response of the COO to a person who asked a question about the rules at Talladega Park:

Re: CMP 2020 Pistol Match rules
Noticed Rule 9.2.2 b) continues to limit the number of EIC Matches fired in a calendar year but there is no mention of how many EIC Matches a competitor can fire in a single day. I have participated in matches where the competitor was allowed to chose in which order they wished to fire an EIC event. In reality, seems as though a competitor can actually fire "Service Pistol" or "22 Rimfire" back-to-back as in a "Re-Entry Match" but with the highest score counted. To really get down into the weeds, because they are remitting an entry fee for each match are they counted twice under Rule 9.2.6 Table 10? Actually, a competitor can reasonably compete in three EIC events in a single day if there is a DR Match added to the Match Program.

Although in that specific case the answer was a valid one.MarkF45 wrote:Here is the response of the COO to a person who asked a question about the rules at Talladega Park:

The person wasn't questioning the rules at that point, they were complaining about wasting their day and range time by following the rules and re-qualifying for shooting at longer distances.

Looks like the "final version" for 2020 has been posted.
