Depends on the caliber and pistol: Cast for my .45 ACP wad guns, swaged for my Clark 1911 in .38 special.

To me, swaged has a slight accuracy advantage at the LL in 45..

Some people go through life thinking all they have are " either / or " decisions. As with other things, ask them both out and see what happens. You never know how it will turn out until later and you'll spend more time regretting what you didn't try than what you did.....

I like swaged in my S&W M14 and just acquired 4000 Star HBWC. I also bought a H&G 50 mold so will shoot cast and see how I like them for a while.
With the 45 I tried swaged 185 SWC and cast 180 and liked the cast better. I've been shooting cast 200 SWC better right now so will stay with those in these 2 pistols I have. Jon has my other 45 and I'll most likely shoot the cast 180s with it when he's done.
As I'm still a Marksman I'll use the cast and the weight of bullet that works best for me. Swaged are probably more accurate, but I'd never know the difference until I move up a couple of classes and I personally see no need for me to use jacketed bullets.

I like cast bullets because I make them myself.

Re: Swaged v. Cast
I'm well over 150,000 in reloaded rounds in all calibers I shoot, and yet, I don't have a clear cut answer to this survey. I guess we need to remember what John Bickar said in one of his posts, re-phrasing "my prevailing hobby is shooting versus reloading". As someone who enjoys reloading more than just a necessity to support my shooting, I enjoy challenges of making every kind of bullet flying straight and grouping well in accordance with application at hand. With that, I equally respect swaged and cast projectiles. And as well I respect opinions of shooters, who found what works best for them, and have no desire to experiment with other options.
