22 affordable ammo ???
After shooting CCI for forty years the last two batches have been a real disappoint. Short cycle weak recoil a constant problem out of three pistols. Any suggestions for a good reliable base 22 ammo

Interesting because both my Nelson and Benelli find Geco rifle and semi-auto to be essentially equal.

From a 26.5 in. Barrel, Geco semi-auto velocity is 1148 FPS, and for Geco Rifle it is 1083 FPS. That’s about the only difference. They both perform well in pistols, each having its idiosyncrasies and preference, of course. Try it before you buy in bulk....don’t go by hearsay or what someones’s opinion is.

I might give some of the Geco Semi-Auto a shot too. I've been shooting RWS Target Pistol through my new 208S but tried a box of CCI SV through it Saturday, one round was a total dud, I struck it 3 times and no fire, the 208S has the best strike I've seen yet of any 22 pistol. Still got a case and a half of CCI left though.

My only concern is the higher velocity of the Geco Semi-Auto ammo compared to standard velocity ammo.

I had some concern about the higher velocity as well, so I went with the "Rifle" and it runs fine in my Marvel.

Re: 22 affordable ammo ???
I personally have had great luck with CCI standard but haven't had to use much of the new stuff in the light blue box yet. I ran one or two boxes through my pistol and it seemed to work just fine and just as accurate as ever. I am hoping it stays that way because the CCI standard is pretty easy to come by here in crappy NY.

I happened to help the poster during Ransom Rest testing- deleted his post now- and saw the results of his 50 yard tests.
Too bad as is wasn't hearsay or opinion............

Aguila Super Extra Standard velocity. Typically you can find a case of it pretty cheap. I used it competitively in my Nelson. There is better quality ammo out there but for the money this stuff makes a great training cartridge or depending on your budget a competitive cartridge as well.

I took the chance and bought a case of CCI SV in the new boxes. Was shooting Geco but if I didn't wipe the grease off I had to clean actions every 100 rounds or so. So far I've gone through about a brick and a half with no issues so far. Lot number is L13AA01

I use Aguila pistol match, it grouped the best in my Nelson and is in that mid range for pricing. Had zero issues

Re: 22 affordable ammo ???
I just received a case of Aguilia pistol match today from Bud's in IN. at $ 239.00 free shipping.
Good to hear your feed back Dave . Plan to put 90 rounds at least down range tomorrow morning though the Nelson and the Pardini.
Bill, Thanks for the tip on the price from Bud's in a previous thread.

Aguila Pistol Match through my Marvel. (bench rested)
I shot five rounds, reloaded and shot another five scoping between groups.
Ended up with, well, a five round group, a four round group, and a flyer!
