Marvel goes full auto ???? Empty Marvel goes full auto ????

Guys, my steel unit 1 goes full auto with all 3 magazines using CCI SV ammo when loaded to their 10 round capacity on the last 2 shots.

Loaded with less than 10 rounds and it works perfectly.

my older aluminum unit 1 would double when the extractor pin was walking out of it's hole and the extractor wouldn't have it's normal freedom of movement and was causing a slam fire. It was not predictable like what you are describing...

Is your disconnector fitting well into the disconnect cutout? I had to do some filing on one of my disconnectors so it wouldn't ride along the side of the cutout.

I guess you better move to New York! Then you could only load 7 rounds. lol!

Now that is funny right there!

Seriously, let me think on this one for a bit. What mags are you using, the GSG??

Joe, I'm using the steel mags that came with the unit and they have been feeding/functioning very well with the CCI SV ammo..

GSG ?? Tell me about them please.

Thanx, Denny.

The steel mags would be the first thing I would eliminate from the equation. The GSG (German Sport Gun) mags are far more consistent and reliable amoung other benefits.

Call Marvel and see if they have any of the GSG mags available. If not let me know I have some to sell. $35 each

The next thing that comes to mind is the mag catch holding the magazine firmly in place? Does the lock back feature work consistently? Puzzling is the idea that it is only the last two rounds when loading 10? What happens with 9 loaded?

The conversion itself is very simple, something else is causing this problem, interfering with the slide. Have you tried the conversion on another frame? This will take some narrowing down to resolve and find what the real problem is.

DUH !!! I have not tried that, Joe. Idea I'll try to get up to our pond tomorrow and load 9 in all (3) of the mags that I have and give your idea a try..

I'm curious if the slide does not lock back after the last (9th) round.
If you have another 1911 to put the conversion on just to eliminate the lower as an issue. You need to eliminate possible causes. My guess would be the mags something with the follower not engaging with the slide stop or causing the rounds to sit incorrectly in the mag.

Does the lower function fine as a 45?

Flawlessly, Joe. Unfortunately it's the only 1911 I own.
