H&G #130 185 gr VS 200 #68
I recently got a couple high volume moulds in these two characters so I started using the 130 more.
Interesting thing l found, charge for charge, l actually get more recoil from the lighter bullet. There are 2 differences between them; this lighter bullet has a longer bearing length and is seated deeper in the case.
Not sure which factor plays the most but BE has less difference in recoil while wst 700x and 231 are noticiably different which leads me to think the more important factor is seating depth. I can't experiment with seating it out since I don't have long throats.
Why is this relevant? The lighter #130 bullet will run all my guns with given springs while the 200 doesn't
So maybe a reduced charge is warranted for the 185 ?
Not true with a 68 type 185 by the way.
These are old school bullets, been around like forever.
What's your experience?

Bruce,
For many years I had a friend who cast those 185’s for me. I did not have that experience. I was typically running 3.5-3.6 BE and later 700x with them at same charge. I thought the 700x recoiled harder between the two. I do not like 700x in a longslide; seemed snappier.

Bruce,
If you have N310, I suggest trying 4.4gr with #130. OAL - 1.15", or 0.92" Shoulder to base, 0.463" crimp.
