Diana Bandit PCP air pistol for home training?
Ok so here in the People’s Democratic Republic of New (Socialist) York, the Emperor has decreed we must stay paused until May 15th at the earliest. I’m looking at the Diana Bandit for home practice, relatively inexpensive seemingly accurate enough for home use, possibly viable for putting squirrels in the pot when the food runs out... Anyone have any experience? I know there are much better options, but not at the price point. And GO!

Personally look in Canada for a Listone Victor.

Yep, that’s where I found the Diana Bandit, it’s 1/4 the price. If I’m gonna spend another $7-800 I’ll buy another Springfield... That’s if I can ever liberate the last one I bought, it’s still in FFL limbo waiting for local sheriff to start processing pistol permit amendments again. 🤯

For the same price you can get that russkie hand pumper that shoots as well as the $2000 ones

Shoots as well... possibly , but they are a far cry from an LP-10 in the hand.james r chapman wrote:For the same price you can get that russkie hand pumper that shoots as well as the $2000 ones

Well I must parse my dollars wisely or at least prioritize properly... Paying more for an airgun than I've paid for most or all of my proper guns is not something I'm in a position to do. Hence my interest in a sub $200 pcp

That Diana looks ideal. Wish that I'd seen one before I dropped a wad of cash on a used LP50.

I just went down the same road. The IZH 46m was recommended to me , I bought it and practice every day with it. I can't compare it to other air pistols , I have no other experience. But seems to shoot just fine and I enjoy shooting it. $477 delivered to my door new.
You can save a couple of bucks on the Diana, that's great, now you have to get air into it.
Good luck, Tom

air is an interesting problem these days.
Paintball closed
scuba shops closed...
the one person I've talked to about the Diana wasn't favorable.
Trigger I think was the problem.

As I dive deeper I can see the issue with PCP, which is why I posted the question before “pulling the trigger” more reading and research are in order!

Re: Diana Bandit PCP air pistol for home training?
I agree that the whole PCP issue is a big hurdle with tanks, connectors, scuba shops, etc. With the lockdown I am spending a lot more time with an old Daisy 777 I have had since the 80's. Accurate but the trigger is frustratingly inconsistent and the gun weighs 53 oz. I'm too old for that. So I started looking into a competitive gun, but I can't bring myself to spend the several hundred dollars in support equipment a PCP gun would need. Otherwise I'd be interested in the Steyr LP10e that's on here for sale now.

Try welding supply shops. May have to buy a small tank tho.

Dealing with an air tank is no big deal. Get a decent sized tank and you'll be filling your gun for the better part of a year even if you shoot a good bit. My Steyr Evo10 is about 3 classes above my old FAS 6004, to compare them is really not even fair.

Locally at least, welding supply shops are open as they supply needed materials for some business's that fall into the essential category
