Eley Pistol X Ammunition
First topic message reminder :
Ok, Pardini USA is peddling Eley Pistol X Ammunition. I assume that this is the ammo that they would recommend for Pardini Pistols.
Unfortunately, you can only get it in the case quantity and it is double the price of CCI SV which is my standard ammo.
I searched for it using a couple of the ammo seeker tools and could not find it available at any of the suppliers, either the familiar ones or the ones that I have never heard of.
has anybody used this ammo? What is it like?
Regards,
Cranky

Re: Eley Pistol X Ammunition
Good job Jim,
Interesting that the best looking group is still CCI SV, it is obviously the "go to" ammo for many others on the Forum, but somehow I've never felt comfortable with it compared to others I've tried. I'm dying to get out on to a 50 yard range to do a group test myself.

Re: Eley Pistol X Ammunition
Good work Jim.
I just acquired a Ransom Rest and will be doing some serious testing in due course.
I continue to have FTF's occasionally with Aguila PM in my SP22. Usually feeds OK if freshly cleaned.
All Eley I have has been 100% reliable.

What's the consensus? What are your experiences with this ammo after a year and a half?

In a Pardini, IMHO, the Bullseye Pistol X is very, very good. Not flawless, but good enough to be my favorite match ammo.
Just as important, in these C19 times, it is available.

I have been using BEX for some time with great results, I just checked and Champions Choice has it by the box for 8.00 and instock.
How do you distinguish the version 1 from version 2

...Private label, nobody else can sell it?... I recently purchased a brick from Champions Choice. Tried it at 50 yards in my Hammerli 208 & 215 and Walther GSP Expert. Very disappointing results, plan to use indoors at 50 ft.mikemargolis wrote:It is private label by Eley for Pardini USA, nobody can sell it but them.CrankyThunder wrote:Ok, Pardini USA is peddling Eley Pistol X Ammunition. I was told that by Killough today.
Killough, as you may know, is owned by Eley, so they should know.
Re: Eley Pistol X Ammunition
CC is a stocking dealer for Pardini USA, hence why it is also on sale there, as well as direct from Pardini by the case. AFAIK.

That was true in May 2020 when I wrote that, since then it's been for sale by CC, Killoughs and Pardinibrassmaster wrote:...Private label, nobody else can sell it?... Well, isn’t Killoughs the Eley site?

Re: Eley Pistol X Ammunition
They are indeed the official Eley importer, but Bullseye Pistol X is not mentioned on their website and, AFAIK, it is only available direct from Pardini or from their stocking dealer CC.

Re: Eley Pistol X Ammunition
I bought 2 cases of the Eley Bullseye X when it first became available last year. My practice and match volume has been seriously down for the last year and a half thanks to Covid impacting the availability of events, etc. I shot about a brick of it last indoor season and found misfires of approximately 1 round per 100. Good strikes from my Pardini left nice indentations on the cases. This season I have been shooting it again with the same misfire issues. Last night I shot 1/2 Eley Target and 1/2 BX. I had 2 misfires out of 30 rounds with the BX and no problems with the Target. One was on the 2nd round while the other was on the 5th round in a string. One timed and one rapid. 4 shot alibis stink.

What's the lot number? I have a brick of one lot and then 2 cases from another. The single brick lot had 2 no fires. I am about a brick into the 2 cases and I've had zero issues.
