This really isn't a bullseye question, but this forum is a wealth of information. Just acquired a 1959 vintage commercial government model. Would like to get the gun reworked, slide/ frame, trigger work, barrel, finish, etc. Do you guys have a recommendation as to a gunsmith for this kind of work? The gun looks as though it has very little wear or had never been fired. A few scuffs and light scratches.

Depends on your goal. If you want it restored to its former glory, Doug Turnbull.

If you want it reworked into a bullseye pistol, any of the 4 previously mentioned.

If it is as good as you say, perhaps a collector would be interested enough for you to get a ground up build?

It will not be for bullseye, my plan is a gift for my father. With current timelines, it will be for his 75th birthday, so more of a a restore/ accurize.

Might have more collector value if not reworked. Turnbull may be best, but not cheap, and not fast. I don't know of others sorry.

You may also consider Greg Derr, his rebuilds are not only functionally exceptional, but also look fantastic.
