How high does .22 only classification go?
So with all 3 guns I've been shooting high expert scores trying to hit master. Today shot my first match since COVID, I ended up shooting my 208S for the whole match since I messed up my 1911 by adjusting the trigger bow and the trigger wouldn't work.
So I shot a 2611 with just shooting .22. Thought it might be fun to get HM class with the 22 but not sure it goes that high. Pretty sure they do hand out cards for 22 only.

According to my reading there is no "22 only". Whatever you get would be your classification for NRA Precision Pistol, Outdoor or Indoor, Metallic or Open Division.

Thanks John, you cleared it up. Now we gotta assume my range master codes it right when entering.

I am classified as Expert in .22-Only and in all calibers, both for Indoor and Outdoor. I have all 4 classification cards taped to the lid of my pistol box.
I received my .22-Only classifications when I had deliberately competed for about a year in 22-Only.

I got the .22-only classification incidentally. I shot some indoor 900s and Sectionals and got a card. I never entered a match as ".22 only".

And I know you're not going there, Zane, but before anyone else does:
There is no 2600, 2650, nor 2670 Club for .22-only.
It is intended to introduce newcomers into the sport.

John, thanks for the clarification. It was really is not clear in the rule book from my quick review. But if John Bickar got a .22 Only Classification, I'm going to have to get one too! (And My Little Pony is still running! Great News!)

Re: How high does .22 only classification go?
I rechecked online and corrected my earlier post. Indeed, it says Outdoor .22-only, could have sworn it did not earlier. There was a significant delay before it appeared online, I wonder if there were other glitches.
So my question now is, what happens when I compete in outdoor including centerfire? Does the .22-only simply disappear, or do I get a second classification?

Re: How high does .22 only classification go?
If you are going to shoot .22 Only, make sure your Match Staff reports it as such to NRA, even if they don't have a .22 Only awards section for the match. We failed to do this for our matches because we were only offering 3-Gun awards and some of our Marksman shooters were forced to shoot .22 Only Unclassified (Master) at the Nationals due to our oversight. If your scores go to NRA without a .22 Only note, they will be considered 3-Gun.-TT- wrote:I rechecked online and corrected my earlier post. Yes I definitely don't want to obtain a normal HM or M card without earning it, getting a HM/22 only might be fun though.

IF a club is holding a 2700 match on Sat and Sun I would shoot the 3 Gun 2700 on Sat and 22 Only 2700 on Sun. Shooting 22 only is fun.
