Anyone know about the FAS 6007
Just wondering if anyone has any direct knowledge, concerns likes or dislikes on the gun. How does it stack up against the Pardini and the FWB-93?

Re: Anyone know about the FAS 6007
My only experience is with the FAS 602 which is the older version of the 607 and 6007. The 602 is a wonderful iron sight pistol. It sets very low in the hand and has a great trigger that has a wide adjustment range.
For a Bullseye shooter who wants a scope the FAS pistols are a problem because the magazine is inserted and removed from the top. This severely limits scope mounting options.
The fact that the new 6007 has the Chiappa name attached to it gives me some pause.

I had a great experience with FAS Domino 601. Superb gun, minimal amount of parts very well engineered and executed, amazing trigger probably the best I ever had, feel and balance was also the best I ever felt. Sold it only due to 22 short ammo being sucky, even CCI. As I understand 6007 is very much similar and even though made by or carries Chiappa name it is well built. Yes, top loading mags are not the easiest to handle, especially when any failures to feed and eject. However, once you get used to it it's not that much of an issue. Price is definitely right at around $1200. I will likely own one in the future.

Top loading mags are probably going to make it hard to mount a dot. That's not a factor if you're using it with irons only, of course.

Front shroud has tons of real estate to drill and mount the dot or small rail. On 601 and 601 that space is also flat, making drilling, tapping and mounting extremely easy. Reflex and micro dots would go on easy. Yes, not the most conventional gun, and yes it will be front rather than middle or rear-mounted, but competent gunsmith can have them on in no time.

I mounted a 1” Ultra Dot on the shroud on my 602. It was a bit nose heavy but not bad. I got used to it quickly. I miss that old gun.

Top loading cannot do insert magazine, then rack the bolt. You have to rack, put up the slide stop so bolt is open. Insert magazine, drop the bolt. Since these guns do not keep slide open on last round you get to rack and put up slide stop at every magazine change. Never mind that it's not comfortable and you will have to learn how to use a pinky. Inconvenience, you can get used to it, but it is there. Now imagine FTF or FTE, also FTE can drop into mag well and if you do not notice you are putting mag on top of that brass, then trying to fish it out is fun )) But darn that 601 was sweeeeeet.

Did it extend past the muzzle? Got any pics?JKR wrote:I mounted a 1” Ultra Dot on the shroud on my 602. It was a bit nose heavy but not bad. I got used to it quickly. I miss that old gun.

I was thinking of the clearance to insert the mag from the top without the red dot being too far back and extending over the ejection port or being too far forward and extending past the muzzle.

I heard the 602 shoot great , it has common DNA with the Izzy and AW93.
I think BME designed a mount for the 602.
If the sights are as good as they are on Benelli and Pardini, you will not need a dot if you have good eyes.

Sights on 601 were nothing short of exceptional. One thing to keep in mind is that euro guns tend to have wide front sight from the start. However, the sight spacing and alignment was exceptional.
