Morning Farmer. Welcome to the sport!
Generally red dots used in Bullseye do not have any magnification. It is just a dot.
Red dots in your price range that seem to get decent reviews, especially for use on a 22, are the ultradot 1 inch, ultradot matchdot II, Primary Arms MD-Ads, or the Holosun 403. Some people have also started playing with the Sig and Vortex dots that are similar and seem to work just fine. When your shooting the 22 it's easier on a dot. If you go with the Primary, holosun, or sig, I highly recommend adding shades. You can get them from KC.
Hope that helps!

My favorite 41 is a 7” with a C-More Railway 3 moa mounted on a Pic rail. The C-More is a challenge to get zeroed but once zeroed, it does not move.

I think you'll find UltraDot is dominate on most lines of bullseye shooters if that means anything. Secondly, magnification is certainly not needed and will the increase the dreaded wooble.

Just starting out I would suggest a full size scope instead of a micro. The micro are harder to acquire a dot and they all seem to need a shade that the factory does not make. My suggestions in order of preference would be Sightron S30-5, Ultradot, Millet and ADCO. The Ultradot comes in 1" or 30mm. It is a personal preference which one you like best. I use all of them.

I have been using a Sightron on my model 41, good quality red dot. I would recommend it.

This was another costly post. When I recommend something I like to make sure they are available. See my post above about where to find Sightron red dots. Millett were not so easy. Then it was too easy. I found a 30mm multi dot that had my name on it. It must of. I've never seen one with 4 dots before and this one was priced right. It got here today and I will review shortly.

I picked up a Millett SP2 4dot. 3, 5, 8 and 10 moa dot. I may have stole it. There is another without the 4 dot on EBay right now for 159.95 (to much) I picked mine up for 72.00 + 8.00 shipping.

A little known factoid. The shades on the 30mm Milletts fit on Aimpiont 30mm tubes. Perfectly

I have a few of the Millet/Simmons Multi-dots.....they are identical best as I can tell and for most part work very well. I have even used one on a frame mounted 45 with no ill effects. The only issue I have had is on one of them the point of impact changes when you switch from dot to dot.
This shows out of stock right now....but one can hardly beat the price:
