Hornady .451 FTX/zmax bullet accuracy?
Has anyone used the Hornady FTX bullets (aka zmax with the glow in the dark silicone tip) for precision shooting?
With the ammo shortage I ordered quite a bit to bolster the hoard of 45 jacketed. There a defensive-designed round, but so are some of the tried & true JHPs.
I haven't been able to find mention of them for bullseye. Thanks!

I've used the FTX with the red tip. Very accurate. In my wheel gun/cannon.

Yep 460 Win Mag. The FTX turns it into a 200 yd Elk round.

The only problem is that the muzzle blast blows over my box and brass catcher when I'm next to LenV

True. It also blows my gun box and brass catcher over. It will also knock all of the dust out of the rafters and blow it all over everything. But the worst thing I ever had it do was cut a sandbag in half. You have no idea how hard it is to get fine dry sand out of everything.

Len, I’ve literally pulled up to my shooting spot (I live in the desert) and set up my targets, table, gunbox and guns, to have a dust devil blow through and cover everything in fine sand including the inside of my car. I then put everything away and go home so I can clean my guns without ever firing a shot. My little commuter car sees more off-road than 99% of the jeeps and trucks out there. My dashboard is really a dust board.
I understand your plight!

I killed a bumblebee once at a match....... Went to score targets at 50 yards and there was 1/2 a bee in the 9 ring. Head shot.
Hard to do with a .45 with open sights..........
I thought I should get an extra 9 points due to the degree of difficulty, but others thought I should be penalized 9 points because bee season wasn't open and I didn't have a bee license.........
