Traveling with firearm
I'll be going from California to Montreal this summer. Any ideas about what to do with my carry gun before I cross into Canada? Pat Clarkson

Yes, leave it home. With one exception, there is no legal way to take a handgun into Canada. If you are shooting in a public competition, have your competition entry paperwork, and you get a temporary weapon permit for that competition before you get to the border, you can enter for that competition. You must go directly to and from that competition.

Maybe rent a bus locker or a safe deposit box?

Getting rifles in is like "Midnight Express" I'm curious to see what pops up. I do know that the "Firearms Declaration" form is available on line from whatever "Ministry" controls all that and it has a comprehensive list of what's prohibited. Better safe than very sorry with this one, get ALL the facts.
