.22 Conversion for Commander
My father left me several Commanders and Commander-length pistols. Is there a .22 conversion that is at least moderately accurate that will work on them? I have a Nelson and a Steel Marvel, and I don't believe they will work.

It would only take a moment to try them.
Pop off a slide and see for your self, I'm fairly sure it would work.

Yeah, I'm almost positive they'll work. The conversions "clamp" into place on the slide stop. It might look funny (gap between the dustcover and conversion), but the only reciprocating part of the conversion (slide) rides loosely in the rails pretty far back. Only issue I see is some commanders have heavier mainsprings due to the lighter slides, so you may need to go lighter on the mainspring (not to be confused with recoil spring).

Ciener makes conversions for Commander much like Marvel Unit 1/Nelson. Advantage Arms makes unit for Commander much like Marvel Unit 2 for plinkers. May be others.

I used my Nelson on my Kimber pro which is their commander size pistol, no problems at all.
