SLOW FIRE TECHNIQUE
Perhaps 40 years ago, someone gave me a copy of an article titled "SLOW FIRE TECHNIQUE", for Bullseye Shooting. The pages are turning brown and cracking, but I thought I should copy it here. Things have changed since then, but I suspect everything written here is as true today a "lifetime ago".
The person who wrote it put his name at the top of the first page, but I don't recognize the name. Maybe someone here will know it, so he can get credit.
Here are the three pages I just scanned:
(ADDED LATER - there is a PDF version of these pages that is now added to this thread.)

Mike,
Can you scan that into a pdf file and post? That format is easier to download, store and read. Thanks.

Oh, take me back to the 70s when I was coached by LtC Miller.
I hope someone can deliver that into a dot doc.

Re: SLOW FIRE TECHNIQUE
If I did this correctly, hopefully all three pdf files will be attached:
I get this error message, even when trying to upload just one page: "Uploaded file is not valid: exceeded image dimensions limit (image size : [2550 x 3509], limit : [800 x 800])."
What are the steps to upload a pdf file to this thread?
Never mind, I need to re-scan them, and save in 'pdf' format, not 'jpg'.

TonyH - thank you! Until just now, I didn't know I could do that!
If I want to post manual pages for something, like a Model 52, this is a *much* better way than what I used to do.

Re: SLOW FIRE TECHNIQUE
Is the pdf version good for you, or do you want me to try to get it into a Microsoft Word document?Jack H wrote:.........I hope someone can deliver that into a dot doc.
If you need it in the ".doc" format, I might be able to - not sure. I guess I can try.....

A dot doc is not a priority. Don't bother unless you want to.
I do know a typist who could type it manually in minutes.

Re: SLOW FIRE TECHNIQUE
It would be nice to add the name of the person who wrote this to the .doc file, but while I see the name on my original copy, I don't know for sure what I think I'm reading. If anybody does know the person, maybe they can post the name here, so we can add it.Wile E Coyote wrote:.doc attached
The name is ? ? ? Whiteman
Maybe someone here will recognize him.

Re: SLOW FIRE TECHNIQUE
There's some good points there.
I'm of the opinion that trigger pressure starts long before the sights settle on the target. If you wait to start applying pressure until the sights have settled the first thing the gun does is move... Preload the trigger enough to where the sights don't move as you settle into the center and finish squeezing off the shot.
