How many hands do you hold your gun with, if you want to shoot the best possible target with your ability
Hypothetical Question - How many hands do you hold a gun with for the best accuracy?
First topic message reminder :
You go to a range, and a group of people there want to see who can shoot the best.
Everyone gets to shoot 5 rounds at their target, then it's scored.
It's open to everyone, and maybe there are lots of Bullseye shooters there.
Any caliber, any gun, whatever you're shooting at the range that day. It's very informal.
Let's say the target is at 25 yards, supposedly to make it more of a challenge.
The person with the highest score wins a dinner at a nearby restaurant.
So, how many hands do you hold your gun with? One, Two, or none - you decline.
(What made me think of this, is with my 1911 wad gun, no matter how well I shoot, I still always can do better using two hands.)
(Any time I get better with one hand, I also get better yet with two.)
(It's not exactly a Bullseye question, but since you took up Bullseye, you must have improved greatly shooting with one hand. From what you learned, did you also get even better with two hands?)

Re: Hypothetical Question - How many hands do you hold a gun with for the best accuracy?
My club is a mix of "bullseye", "combat", "silhouette", and everything else excluding "action". There are several bullseye matches every month - I'm part of the 5-person group that shoots at 50 and 25 yards, one handed. There are usually 30 more people that shoot two handed at 25 and 15 yards.
I don't get what you mean, but that's OK.
And after all this time, I'm now sooting my "bullseye guns" one handed. My other guns? It depends on how I feel that day. I want to shoot well both ways.
I don't think I was asking "a bunch of one hand shooters", even if most of them are, most of the time. Maybe one's point of view varies as one gets older. I'll be 77 in four more weeks, and I accept that I'm falling further and further behind physically, even as I'm improving by learning better ways to do things.
As to the "Gatorade Forum", they'd probably answer based on what TV and Movies they've watched. :-)

That's outstanding, those are big numbers and I hope you have many more years of good physical activity. If anything, Bullseye Matches get one up early Saturday, or Sunday. And that is all to the good. Something to plan for, something to do.mikemyers wrote:. Hey, thanks!!! .....but I'm skeered ta go outside nowadays, as that pesky virus might be lookin' for me.
I had every intention of going to the range tomorrow, Monday, but there's something buzzing around in my brain to take a break from shooting until the virus numbers start dropping again.
